Principal Embedded Hardware Engineer

Job Description:
North Pole Engineering is currently seeking a talented, motivated Principal Electrical Engineer. This position requires a candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to analyze and document customer requirements. As a lead member of NPE's technical team, you will work directly with customers to help define product requirements, define architecture, perform detailed design work and lead other technical team members.

Responsibilities:
Perform detailed design of microprocessor based platforms and related analog/digital circuits.
Conduct design analysis on designs ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, reliability and meeting customer requirements.
Prepare technical documentation, including architecture, detail design, operation and verification test documents.
Lead design team, monitor schedule and budgetary guidelines.
Work directly with project management to assure successful project completion.
Provide technical guidance to other team members, including instructing and verifying their work.

Job Requirements:
BSEE and at least 7+ years experience in digital systems design.
Experience in embedded systems/microprocessor-based design.
Experience leading electrical design teams.
Experience in all aspects of product design including, requirements gathering, architecture definition, design for test/manufacturing, design verification and product safety/electrical emissions and susceptibility testing.
Experience in RF communications including, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or similar technologies.
Experience in high-speed digital interface design such as, DDR2, PCIe, etc.
Experience in medical device design or other regulated industries.
Ability to work closely with software engineers.
